Gathering information
This includes various kinds of information:
Quantitative data
- Aggregated data from public or private institutions: various Social Security institutions, Crossroads Bank for Social Security, Public Planning Service for Social Integration, Actiris, Directorate-General for Statistics and Economic Information, etc.
- Aggregated data from regionally representative surveys, such as the Labour Force Survey, the Health Survey, the EU-SILC (limited representativeness)
- Data from specific research or studies carried out by external researchers, whether or not in collaboration with the Observatory.
- Individual, anonymous and exhaustively coded data from birth/death certificates (in the context of indicators for social health inequalities).
Qualitative data
- Data from qualitative research
- Information sourced from expert organisations and other fieldworkers.
- Contact with individuals living in poverty (e.g. via discussion groups as part of the Brussels poverty report or from the Service for Combating Poverty, Marginalisation and Social Exclusion).

Information regarding the processes for gathering quality data from various sources
